A viewing will take place on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 10am - 5pm at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel.
Frances Burnett was born on September 23, 1929, to Thomas Ficke and Hannah Ficke in Canyon, Texas. She graduated from Amarillo High School and later married the love of her life, Pete Burnett, on October 7, 1947. Together, they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
A devoted gardener, Frances had a deep love for nature and took great joy in planting and nurturing flowers—if something could grow, she would lovingly plant it. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs and cats, who often found a warm welcome in her home.
Frances will be remembered most for her kind heart and unwavering love as a mother. Her children were the light of her life, and she gave them all of herself with grace and devotion.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pete and her son, Gary Lee Burnett.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda McGinnis and husband, Lonnie and Deborah Pettigrew, of Arizona; her grandchildren, Shilloh Brown, Mindy Carr and Tim Carr; her great-grandchildren, Brea Brown, Brooklynn Brown, Shylah Brown and Kallie Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Ramon Garcia and Bess Garcia and Dee Cornett for taking extra special care of Frances.
