Eliza Elenora Baca

Eliza (Lisa) Baca, 97, passed away December 25, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas.  She was born on September 22, 1926, to Teo and Lola Baca in Santa Rosa, New Mexico.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Teo and Lola Baca, her two sons, Larry and Mike Floyd, five brothers and five sisters.  She is survived by her children, Ernest and wife Anita Floyd, Tina Garcia, Sarah Floyd, and Leah and husband Trini Hernandez, and two sisters, Nila Chavez and Lucy and husband Charlie Griego.  She has 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Lisa was a Jehovah’s Witness and belonged to the Glenwood Kingdom Hall Congregation.  She loved sharing Bible truths to people and had countless hours of service and preaching works. She was known as a good example to everyone by the way she lived her life.  In her family and even in her congregation, she was called “Mom” because of that beautiful influence.  There are many loves in her life—she loved her family, to sing and dance, good food, (especially dishes with Hatch Green Chilis), traveling to different places and countries, gardening, and earrings.  She wouldn’t go anywhere without her earrings.  She made friends easily and everyone loved her personality, jokes, and quick wit.   She was able to figure things out and learned early in life how to make something out of nothing.  She was a wonderful cook and passed that love and talent for cooking down to all her family.
