Donna Lou Stafford

Donna Lou Stafford, 77, passed away on February 18, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas.  She was born on February 23, 1946, to Johnny Gaither and Lynn Gaither in California.  She married James Stafford on March 17, 2003.  She worked at a grocery store and a motel, but she is mostly considered a housewife.  She attended San Jacinto Baptist Church and was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge in Amarillo.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Carrie Renae Essary, and a sister Dorlene Brice.

Donna is survived by her daughter Sheila (Don) Beall and her children Calvin Wheeler, Sheena (Claude) Swank and their son Jimmy, Sarah Wheeler, and Tyler Smith.

She was a Dallas Cowboys fan, very patriotic, and was considered a simple country girl.  She was boisterous but always willing to help anyone if she could.  She loved her documentaries and cop shows and loved to take care of her fur babies—Sugar and Chloe.  She also enjoyed dancing and playing pool.
