David Paetzold, age 75, of Amarillo, TX, passed away on September 21, 2026 at home.

He was born on September 17, 1951, in Hereford, Texas, to Betty and Raymond Paetzold. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1970 and went on to attend the University of New Mexico on a football scholarship. After marrying his beloved wife, Alison, they welcomed two sons and built a wonderful life together. He devoted much of his life to running a small business and providing for his family. Following his retirement, he found great joy in caring for his grandsons and making cherished memories with them.

David is survived by his wife Alison; sons: Jay (Ashley) and Russ; grandsons: Kai and Ryker; and siblings: Gary (Nancy), John (Beverly), and Susan. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Betty.

David had a contagious laugh, an extraordinary memory, and an endless supply of captivating stories. With his passing, an incredible piece of history has gone with him. He will be deeply and sorely missed.

A family directed memorial service will be held on October 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., at Hillside Christian Church, located at 6100 S Soncy Rd, Amarillo, TX 79119.
