Carolyn Ann Kuper Evers, 82, a lifetime resident of Hereford, Texas has gained her angel wings on July 29, 2026, at the Cottages of Quail Creek Memory Care Unit in Amarillo, Texas. A rosary is scheduled for Friday August 14, 2026, at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw funeral home, 8310 S. Coulter St. Amarillo Texas, at 6:00 pm with visitation from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial service is scheduled at 10:00 am Saturday August 15, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Catholic School at 120 W. Park Ave, Hereford, Texas with Fr. Grant Spinhirne, Parish Priest, officiating as Celebrant. Burial will

follow in St. Anthony’s cemetery, 400 Ranger Drive, Hereford, Texas. Services are under the direction of LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw funeral home. The family has requested that those in attendance honor the memory of her late husband, Sonny, to wear the color RED, as she was not partial to a specific color. Carolyn Ann Kuper Evers was born September 23, 1943, in Hereford, Texas, to Henry Kuper and Emma (Acker) Kuper. She married her best friend and the love of her life, Allen “Sonny” Evers on August 12, 1963, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hereford. They celebrated 51 plus years together. Carolyn graduated from Hereford High School and WTAMU in Canyon, Texas. She was a private music teacher for 62 years, starting out as a traveling music teacher, then from her home while raising her family, then back to traveling. She was also the music teacher at St. Anthony’s Catholic Elementary School until her retirement. She was involved with her daughters in campfire and her sons in Boy Scouts. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Carolyn started Square Dancing in 1972, Round Dancing in 1975, and received the Lee Roy Achievement Award for Square Dancing and Round Dancing in June 2012. Carolyn liked working with ceramics, sewing, and crocheting. She was involved with St. Anthony’s church as an organist, the Teen Square Dancing, traveling to Square and Round Dancing at the state level and national conventions, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and school events.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her spouse, Sonny, her parents; one son, Ryan LeDale Evers (1980); one Sister, Delores Fleming (2010), and one brother Marvin Kuper, (2018).

She is survived by 2 daughters, Sandy Beck of Amarillo, Shannon Perez (Ricky) of Amarillo; 3 sons, Richard Evers of Amarillo, Russell Evers (Annette) of Lubbock, Texas, Randy Evers (Shelley) of Frisco, Texas; 1 sister, Lynda Herrin of Belton, Texas, 1 brother, John Kuper (Judy) of Moody, Texas, and 1 brother, Larry Kuper (Judy) of Amarillo, Texas. 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
