Bobby Joe Williams, 77, of Amarillo, died Monday, October 27, 2025 in Amarillo. Services will be held on November 7th at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Vega, Texas. The burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Vega, Texas, at 3:00 p.m. Viewing will begin at 12:00 p.m.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a son, Aaron Brent Williams of Amarillo, and a daughter, Katy Brett Williams also of Amarillo. A granddaughter, Zoie Jolene Williams of Amarillo and a grandson Matthew Noland of Amarillo. One brother, Mitch and wife Carla Williams of Lubbock and 2 nieces Lindsey and Mesha. An aunt, Bonnie Blassingame Newkirk and husband David, along with many cousins, classmates, longtime friends and his beloved dog, Lizzy.
Bob was born in Amarillo, Texas to Willie Owen Williams, Jr and Dolly Blassingame Williams on April 26, 1948. Bob grew up in Vega, Texas and lived in Amarillo. Bob attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tempte, Arizona, Dalhart, Texas, and returned to Amarillo, where he has lived since the mid-1980s. Bob worked in agriculture and automotive sales throughout his professional career. His favorite hobby was customizing and rebuilding cars. His 1967 Chevelle was his pride and joy! It was pristine by anyone’s standards. Besides being passionate about his cars, he spent most of his time in his shop drinking coffee in his pj’s and keeping the television on Fox News. He spent a good amount of spare time farming throughout his life. His kindness, generosity, and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
