Blanca Olivia Padilla, 70, passed away May 28, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Padilla was born on August 5, 1954, in Honduras to Vicente Gutierez and Maria Isabel Mungia. She married Rigoberto Padilla in the United States after immigrating from Honduras. They were blessed with four children.
Those left to honor her memory are son Erasmo Garcia, daughter Gladys Garcia, son Carlos Garcia and daughter Dana (Julio) Castro with children Jhonathan, Nathan, and Ethan, many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins, and grandchildren too numerous to mention.
Those who preceded her in death are her parents, her husband Rigoberto Padilla, and a granddaughter, Estela Castro.
Blanca was a Christian being a member of the Holy Ground Church, a United States citizen, a caregiver to her husband, and a loving, caring, wise woman. She loved to give good advice to her grandchildren and often took up for them. She loved to be outside, loved talk shows, and especially loved to cook—this gave her great joy. From a very young age, Blanca loved to dress up. She wanted her jewelry, her make-up, her nails and toes all to look perfect. Being so fashion-conscious, it was no wonder her husband called her “my Barbie.” She also enjoyed watching soccer and boxing on TV. Another fascinating tidbit about her was how much she loved going fast, which goes along with her being a risk taker. Because of all this and more, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
