Arthur Fred Armijo

January 14, 1950 — December 11, 2025

Amarillo, Texas

Arthur Fred Armijo of Amarillo passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on December 11, 2025. Arthur was born to Facundo and Flaminia Angel (Garcia) in Tucumcari, New Mexico. He grew up in San Jon, New Mexico, where he went to school and worked at Coopers Grocery store until he uprooted and moved to Amarillo, where he met his wife Patricia Daughtery and stepchildren Lisa Roth, Leslie Bannister, and Michealaine Giebel. Soon after, they married in August of 1979 and continued their life in Amarillo.

Arthur began working for IBP before the name changed over to Tyson, where he retired in 2020. Arthur was a very affectionate and loving person. He loved to work in his yard and also loved collecting antiques. He enjoyed family get-togethers the most. He had the most unique laugh. And his smile was quite contagious. Although he would give everyone a hard time he was always there to fix or repair what he could for anyone. His garage displayed all his unique antiques that he collected and when someone would say they liked something, he would throw out a price and then laugh and eventually give it to them. Everyone’s house has a piece of him in it no doubt. But the best part was when he came to visit. Never a dull moment for sure. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Tomasito Armijo, wife Patricia, step daughter Lisa Roth.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Leslie Banister and Michaelaine Geibel, and a granddaughter, Taelor Roth. Siblings: Steve Angel and wife Mary Ann of San Jon, New Mexico, Mary Helen Garcia of Amarillo, Texas, Teresa Ebell and husband Andres of Springer, New Mexico, Jose Angel and wife Rosa of Littlefield, Texas. Also, several nieces and nephews.
