Alicia Blanco

November 5, 1937 — December 4, 2023

Alicia Saenz de Blanco, 86, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on December 4, 2023. She was born on November 5, 1937, in Matalotes, Dgo, Mexico, to Concepcion Saenz and Maria de los Angeles.  She grew up in the same town and ended up marrying Eulogio Blanco on May 6, 1961, and was blessed with 11 children.

Alicia, (Licha), also known as “Queen Bee” or “Chica Super Poderosa” was a very special mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She grew up on a ranch in the mountains of Mexico.  She owned her own store and was the town nurse in her younger years.  She is known for her sweet smile, her bravery, and her love for her family.  She is also known for loving to bake, eating mango catfish and chicken alfredo, and drinking coffee—lots of coffee.  One of her most favorite things to do besides having her family around her daily was to play poker, which she did almost every night.  Her grandchildren called her Abuelita, and she loved them dearly.  Alicia loved having her nails done and getting a pedicure.  Her hobbies included gardening and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Berta.

She is survived by her husband Eulogio, oldest child, Victor, wife Leticia and his children Mayra, husband Steven, and their children Matthew and Ezekial; Olivia and her children Xavier and Tony; Ulises; and Alexa.  Her next daughter was Maria Lujan, husband Jesus, and their children Alicia, grandchildren Kalani and Caleb; Mariam, husband Adam (deceased), grandchildren, Emily, Israel, and twins Isaac and Ivan; and Luis, wife Carissa with grandchild Katherine.  Next there was Martina Blanco with child Alan with his children Steven and Ian; child Laura, husband Marco, and her children Victoria and Dante; and Adriana, husband Rodolfo and their children Nahima and Noah.  Then came Macaela Silva, husband Alfredo and their children Karla and Sarai.  Next was Candelario and with children Nilda and Miley.  Sixth was Enedino, wife Emma, with children, Kristen and her son Jackson; Jasmine; and Brisa.  Twins were born next with Berta (deceased) being oldest with her children being Amy, husband Nathaniel, and Bryan.  Berta’s younger brother is Pedro, wife Mary and their children Melina and Raul.  After the twins were Alma Blanco, husband Carlos, and their child, Chantal.  Next was Monica Blanco, husband Victor, with children Gerardo and Krystal.  Their last son was Eulogio, wife Maria, and their children Chansity, Alejandra, Alondra, and Janette.
