Peggy Jean Walker

Peggy Jean Walker, 83 of Amarillo passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 in Amarillo. Mrs. Walker was born April 28, 1940 to Leonard and Marie Mathis in Coolidge, Arizona.

Mrs. Walker worked in the KGNC sales department, Boot’s N Jeans and the Amarillo Dragway. She was a member of Grace Church and was a part of Chosen People Ministries, Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Shiners Children’s.

Mrs. Walker loved the Dallas Cowboys.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Jackie Mathis. She is survived by three sons; Dan Slaughter, Kevin “Jay” White, David White (Misty), grandson Colton White, sister Margie Fry, nieces Becky Cary, Melinda Christy, and LaMelva Hooker.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors 8310 S. Coulter Road, Amarillo, Texas. Graveside rites will be Friday, November 3, 2023 2:00 pm at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 14200 Interstate 27, Amarillo, Texas, with Dr. Mark Welshimer of Faith Southwest United Methodist Church of Amarillo, Texas, officiating.
