Peggy C. Smith, 82, of Amarillo died on Sunday, July 9, 2017. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, July 14, 2017 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Dr. Mike Ecker of Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Peggy was born on April 27, 1935 in Love, TX to Glenn and Pauline Dustman. She graduated from Happy High School and married the love of her life, Bobby Smith on April 15, 1961 in Amarillo. Peggy was a feisty German housewife who was known for her spotless house. She was an excellent seamstress who made clothes for her girls, friends and the school plays. Peggy's house was the go to place for slumber parties and camp outs in the back yard. She also enjoyed canning and was an excellent cook known for her Aunt Lea's cake. Peggy was the family taxicab driver loving every minute of taking her children and grandchildren anywhere they needed to go.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Glenna Jean and a brother, Robert Dustman.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon Gwynn and husband Lee, Karen Porter and husband Jimmie and Vicki Linley and husband Greg; a brother, Jerry Dustman; ten grandchildren, Eddie, Timothy, Rachael, Velva, Leslie, Sean, William, Samantha, Jesse and Hannah and sixteen great grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 -7:00 pm, Thursday, July 13, 2017 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center, 6010 W Amarillo Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79106.
