1949-2017

Jimmy D. Hoyle, 67, of Amarillo died on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in Lane Memorial Cemetery, Sunray, Texas. Memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in Hillside Christian Church West Chapel with David Rowan and Mike Jackson officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.

Jimmy was born on December 1, 1949 to Joe and Janie Hoyle in Amarillo, Texas. He grew up in Sunray. He married Sharon Keisling on August 15, 1969. Jimmy graduated from West Texas State University in 1973 and spent the next 41 years as an educator including teacher, coach, counselor and principal in Welch, Dimmitt, Perryton, Booker and was the superintendent in Hartley school district until he retired. He later worked as an interim superintendent in Hedley, Claude, Kelton, Wilderado and Sunray school districts. He enjoyed refinishing old furniture into something new, traveling, playing golf and watching sporting events, especially basketball. He loved attending any activity involving his eight grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Hoyle is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon; two daughters, Brandi Berngen and husband Herman and Jenni Kelley and husband Eric; eight grandchildren, Bethany, Andrew and Jonathan Berngen and Emma, Ella, Mayah, Will and Isaiah Kelley; a brother Joe Mart and wife Nancy; and also numerous family and friends.

Family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank all the medical staff that cared for Jimmy .
