Guadalupe "Guad" Hernandez, 53, of Amarillo died on Saturday, January 13, 2018. Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm, Friday, January 19, 2018 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Thomas The Apostle with Father John Valdez as Celebrant. Life Celebration will be at 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Rick Klein Baseball Complex. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.

Guadalupe was born on May 28, 1964 in Uvalde to Nemecio and Micaela Hernandez. Guad married the love of his life, Alma Porras on January 7, 1995 in Abilene. Guad was the most giving and generous husband, father, brother, Tio, and friend. He lived a life of complete dedication to others. His devotion to his UPS family was shown with over thirty five years of service. His greatest accomplishment was being a father to not only his own children but to those entrusted to him in over twenty plus years of coaching. Guad will always be remembered as having the most compassionate spirit and the biggest heart for anyone he came in contact with.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

He is survived by his wife, Alma; his daughter, Kate; his two sons, Anthony and Mark; several brothers and sisters and numerous other family members and friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, January 19, 2018 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel at the Rosary and viewing throughout the day.
