Gladwin "Glad" A. Eads, 86 of Amarillo passed from this life on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 25, 2018 in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.
Gladwin was born on February 11, 1932 in Thawville,Illinois to Hezzie and Rosa Eads. He grew up in Thawville where he graduated from high school. He joined the United States Air Force where he served his country proudly. After being discharged he made Amarillo his home. Glad worked as a local truck driver for Merchants Freight Lines until his retirement. He married Bettye Dawkins in Amarillo. He raised race horses and was always there to help others in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Bettye Eads, son, Scott Eads, and three brothers, Troy Eads, Howard Eads and Glenn Eads.
Glad leaves to cherish his memory a son, G. Charles Eads and wife, Soni; a daughter, Toni Eads; grandchildren, G. Shane Eads and wife, Anissa and Michelle Hite; four great grandchildren, Kasey Eads, who is currently serving our country in the United States Navy, G. Chase Eads, Tinella Hite and Weston Hite.
