Born Brandy Sims in Ft. Rucker, Alabama on July 28, 1964, her family soon moved to Amarillo, Texas where she would live out the rest of her life. A proud 1982 graduate of Caprock High School, Brandy stayed in close touch with as many of her classmates as possible and orchestrated their last 2 reunions. After many years of being apart, Brandy reconnected with classmate David White and their love affair began. The two were married on April 18, 2009 and have enjoyed 8 years of life, love, grandchildren, and adventure.
Brandy was the type of friend everyone wishes they had and the large number of people who loved her is evidence of that. Her love of life was contagious, and she made everyone around her feel their best when they were with her. Brandy loved Jesus and was a long-time member of Temple Baptist church where she was very active in women’s ministry and Bible study. She also participated in many community groups and social groups and was a vocal advocate for Autism awareness. She was also a baseball fan and she and David always enjoyed traveling to Arlington to watch the Rangers play. She loved cooking with her son Jonathan and just sitting on the front porch with her dog Clementine. Her wit was un-matched, and her laughter was contagious, and she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Brandy was preceded in death by her father, Richard Glen Sims.
She is survived by her husband David White of Amarillo, mother Kathy Sims of Amarillo, brother Richard Sims and wife Sheila and nieces Julia, Olivia, and Sophia of Amarillo, sister Paige Browning and husband Steve of Amarillo, son Jonathan Renfroe of Amarillo, daughter Rachel Bentley and husband Coleman of Canadian, son Josh White and wife Shelby of Canadian, a granddaughter Addison and grandsons Corbin and Rylan.
We will always carry you in our hearts and we’ll see you soon… love ya, mean it.
