Benjamin Langston Hopper, 24, of Amarillo died on Thursday, July 27, 2017. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 5, 2017 in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with Reverend Dr. Robert Pace and Reverend Dr. Jill Walters officiating. After the services, there will be a reception in the parish hall and burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.

Ben was born on September 3, 1992 in Grapevine, Texas to John and Luanne Hopper. He grew up in Amarillo, where he attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, Austin Middle School, and graduated from Tascosa High School in 2011. He was attending Texas A&M University, where he was studying cell and molecular Biology.

Ben had many passions including golf, snow skiing, exercising and leading a healthy lifestyle. Ben was deeply spiritual and practiced daily mindful meditation. Ben was a remarkably intelligent young man and excelled academically, something he was proud of and enjoyed. In the summers, Ben could be found enjoying time on the Frio River in South Texas. Texas A&M football was his priority in the fall. Above all, he had a deep love for his family and the time they spent together. Ben chose to lead a sober life on December 23, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse Langston and Frances Mary Hopper.
Ben is survived by his mother, Luanne Boyd; his father, John T. Hopper; his younger brother, Nicholas Hopper; his younger sisters, Avery Hopper and Abby Boyd; his grandparents, Robert and Martha Templeton; aunts and uncles, Linda and Larry Cunyus, Fred and Patti Hopper, Patty and Dan Gillean, and Mark and Debbie Hopper; special family friends, Susan Georgeson and Olivia Yaeger; and numerous cousins and friends.
